The City of Mobile has obtained funding for additional segments of the Three Mile Creek Greenway Trail. Those segments will extend the trail east from the Japanese Gardens for over a mile along the north side of the creek. Funding was allocated from the City’s Capital Improvements Plan with support of a grant from the State of Alabama’s Transportation Alternatives Program. Construction is expected to begin in 2023.
The City is currently seeking funding to extend the greenway trail from Bush Park west across I-65. This future segment will complete the initial greenway vision to connect from the Japanese Gardens to MLK Boulevard and Downtown. Explore the interactive map to see the entire planned greenway trail.
Initial phases of the Greenway were mostly funded by RESTORE Act funding from the US Department of Treasury.
