In July 2023, the City of Mobile annexed three areas on its western edge. The City is anticipating applying City zoning within these areas, which will involve a public hearing process. The first step is to update the Future Land Use map and Major Streets Plans to incorporate these new areas. The series of maps below illustrates the proposed amendments.
The Planning Commission’s public hearing is scheduled for October 5, 2023, at 2 PM in the Multi-Purpose Room of Government Plaza, located at 205 Government Street. Comments regarding the proposed Future Land Use Map and Major Street Plan amendments for the annexed areas can be sent to planning@cityofmobile.org .
