Parks System Improvement Plan

One of the recommended focused planning efforts identified in Map for Mobile is a citywide master plan for Parks and Recreation. Now underway, The Parks and Recreation System Improvement Plan, will look at the City’s Parks and Recreation system as a whole (parks, recreation facilities and programs, and trails) and help guide facility investment and changes over the next 10 years to ensure a successful and sustainable future.

Get Involved: Community Meetings

The Parks System Improvement Plan is being led by City of Mobile staff and professional parks and recreation planning consultants. An Outreach Committee comprised of community stakeholders will meet regularly and is charged with ensuring a high level of representation and inclusiveness.

A Partners Committee comprised of local organizations will help ensure alignment with existing community efforts. Additionally, subject-specific focus groups (soccer, football, baseball, tennis, trails, etc.) will meet with the consultants to provide feedback and insight on Parks and Recreation needs.
