Questions

McNally Park is home to one of the Peninsula’s busiest boat launches, and its marine infrastructure needs attention. The City of Mobile is developing a plan to repair, upgrade, and expand the park’s jetties, boat launch, and fishing access, so the site keeps serving boaters and anglers today while setting up for bigger improvements down the road.

This project is a companion effort to the Perch Creek Preserve Parks District Master Plan Implementation, focused specifically on McNally Park’s marine facilities.

The City is currently selecting an engineering and design firm to lead this project. Phasing and implementation details may be refined once that firm is hired.

  • 1Immediate Operations and Repairs FutureEvaluate existing conditions, identify immediate repairs, address navigation channel dredging needs, and keep the boat launch fully functional while long-term improvements are designed.
  • 2Long-term Infrastructure Design FutureDevelop resilient, phased improvements including new jetties, fishing pier access, sediment management, dredging strategy, and an upgraded boat launch, structured so the work can be built across multiple funding cycles.
  • 3Implementation FutureDeliver construction-ready designs and cost estimates, coordinated with regulatory agencies and shaped by community and stakeholder input, supporting the City's long-term waterfront vision.

What the project will address

Marine operations and safety Short-term repairs and channel dredging will keep the boat launch safe and reliable for daily use while the long-term plan is developed.

Long-term waterfront infrastructure New jetties, an improved boat launch, and expanded fishing pier access will be designed to hold up over time, with sediment management and dredging strategies built in from the start.

Community-supported design Stakeholders and regulatory agencies will be part of the process from the beginning, so the final designs are buildable, fundable, and reflect what the community wants for its waterfront.
