View progress of the Plan! Take the opportunity to speak one-on-one with city staff, review the preliminary recommendations, and give feedback for the final plan. Plus, enjoy family-friendly activities, food, and entertainment!  You’re Invited! Come to review and provide feedback on preliminary recommendations for Mobile’s Comprehensive Plan. On Thursday, May 21, The Map for Mobile planning team presented work-in-progress at the end of the four-day Designing The Future Workshop. This presentation highlights the plan principles derived from earlier community input, potential design solutions that reflect those principles, and polled participants on choices for future priorities. This work-in-progress and the additional input collected will serve as the foundation for Mobile's plan which will be drafted over the coming weeks. Nearly 500 citizens filled the gymnasium of Government Street Baptist Church on March 30 to take part in Map for Mobile's kick-off workshop. The Focus on the Future workshop introduced participants to the comprehensive plan process and generated ideas from the public on how to improve the city and its long-term growth without sacrificing its unique assets. Participants worked in small groups on two activities: 1) Brainstorming Ideas for the Future; and 2) Mapping Strong and Weak Places.
