At that hearing, Planning Commission recommended that the proposed UDC be considered by City Council at a future public hearing. Alabama state law requires at least two public hearings for adoption – one with the Planning Commission followed by one with the City Council. Mobile, Ala. – Beginning next week, Broad Street will be closed from Government Street to the roundabout at the intersection of Canal Street so crews can begin replacing underground utilities and adding new curbs, ramps, and drainage features to the area.
